Product Description

With this conversion service we will replace the internal hot mirror filter with a high quality custom made infrared glass filter. This will allow your camera to capture infrared light instead of visible light. After IR conversion you won’t need any filters in front of the lens and the camera will be just as sensitive to infrared as it was to visible light. This means you can hand hold and compose normally.

Focus calibration we perform on mirrorless cameras allows the use of all mirrorless camera lenses without any focus issues, just as with stock cameras.

Our most popular infrared filter is the Super Color IR due to its versatility in allowing stunning color and monochrome infrared images but it does require some Photoshop post production.

If you are unsure which IR filter type to choose please be sure to go through the Start Here section. It should give you everything you need but if you find you still have questions please feel free to contact us by phone or email, we are always happy to help.

Our 1 year warranty is included on conversion services and installed IR filters.

After you place your order you will receive an email with instructions on how to send us your camera.

I had a Super Color Infrared (590nm) conversion of a Samsung NX30. While I’m happy with the conversion, I wish I had chosen the deep IR filter, mostly out of habit, since I’ve used that type of filter for several years. I hope the 590nm will “grow on me” as our springtime and summer trees begin to leaf. I am in no way unhappy with the performance of the filter. The images I’ve attempted, so far, are tack sharp and easy to post process. I decided to convert this NX30 after I managed to crack the filter in front of the sensor. The cost of conversion was only slightly higher than having the camera repaired back to “normal” by a traditional camera repair shop. I’m now thinking I may convert my Nikon D300 to deep IR when I decide it is time to replace it. The fact that I was able to get my odd camera converted so easily earns LifePixel 5 stars for this little review.

I had my Olympus E-M5 converted to the SuperColor (590nm) filter with great results. I use it with the 14-42 or the 40-150 and both work great. Have done a lot of shooting in Africa with it over the last year with conversions to BW with spectacular results of both landscapes and animals. Very pleased with this conversion.

This is my third Olympus that I have had LifePixel do a IR conversion on. The latest camera was the E-M1 mark 1 and choose the Super Color (590nm) filter with the AR Filter Coating to reduce the IR hot spot. I am very please as always with the LifePixel conversion and super happy with the Super Color choice. Typically I am doing B&W infrared images and the Super Color allows me more control over my B&W conversion process along with the ability to do color infrared as well, the best of both worlds. My E-M5 mark 1 which was converted to a Deep B&W Infrared had bad hot spots when using my 12-40mm Pro Olympus lens while the kit 14-42mm lens had no hotspots. The Super Color filter I added the AR Filter Coating to and I am finding the 12-40mm works with no hot spots, it will give a slight hot spot if I close down below f/5.6.

When it comes to getting a camera converted to IR it will always be LifePixel for me, Thank you LifePixel.

I had an Olympus PEN E-P5 converted. This was the second camera I had converted at Lifepixel. The previous camera was a Nikon D40. Conversion is quick and easy and the results are very good. I’m looking forward to using this camera during the summer.

I had an Olympus E-PL2 converted to infrared and I’m delighted with the results. The whole process was much quicker than I expected. I live in Scotland. It was also less expensive than having the conversion done in the UK.
I was most impressed by the efficiency of LifePixel.

I had an Olympus E-PL6 converted and I am very happy with conversion. The process of mailing my camera out and the return took less than two weeks. After a few adjustment of my camera settings, I was able to go out and dive into the art of infrared photography. There was a learning curve to over come. After a few outings I am now very comfortable in taking and processing my photographs.
