Stock cameras have a steep downward curve in the deep reds limiting most of the sensitivity to the hydrogen alpha wavelengths. Have us modify your camera to allow the reds to pass through to the sensor without any blocking of the hydrogen alpha wavelengths. Allowing for much higher sensitivity and thus shorter, less noisy exposures.

Includes:

  • 1 year warranty on the conversion service and installed H-Alpha filter.
  • Toll free phone and email support for life.

Note: The 6D Card Reader LED emits a leak that is especially visible in long exposures, if you would like this removed just let us know!

The 6Dmk2 unfortunately has a problem with an internal light source with all long exposures at an 800 ISO and higher that we cannot correct.  The 6Dmk2 does not convert well for long exposures.

If Company determines that the damage occurred during shipping and shipping materials were not retained and/or Company was not contacted within 10 days of receipt then the warranty is void.

So far I’m impressed. Took a bit longer to get back because they had a promotion going on but I’m really happy so far with the work they did on my camera. very professional.

I decided to go for H-Alpha camera mod with LifePixel and I could not be happier with the results.
First of all, the order process was very easy and I received the converted camera within 2 weeks (including shipping time). After I received the camera, I had to disable sensor/dust cleaning function from the camera menu as I received error messages when I powered on the camera.

I saw drastic improvement to response on emission nebulae after I took the camera for field test. Before conversion, I hardly saw any nebulosity in individual subframes on Heart nebula, and even after stacking approx. 90min subs, I could not see much. After conversion, I could see nebulosity (primarily red from H-a) on individual subs (of course I had to use histogram stretch to see it, but it was there).
I recommend LifePixel H-alpha conversion for those who want to stick to DSLR for astro-imaging.
