My story starts after my D700 camera had been converted, and shipped back to me… My camera never reached me because of a disasterous UPS truck fire, in which my converted camera was a total loss due to fire and water damage.
Since LifePixel was the shipper, UPS would not (could not) deal directly with me for making a claim. The shipper – LifePixel – had to make the claim and my reimbursement would come through them, after UPS had settled with LifePixel…all according to the UPS representative.
I phoned LifePixel the day I was told of the fire and loss of my new D700 camera. LifePixel immediately sprung into action…following up with UPS and getting confirmation of the fire loss and immediately started the claim process.
But I was in a hurry, I wanted another camera for a series of trips that were upcoming. LifePixel helped me to get a new D800 while it was on sale. I had the new camera shipped directly to LifePixel, and upon receipt they immediately started converting the new camera..and kept after UPS on the claim and insurance reimbursement.
Within days of receipt of my new D800 at LifePixel, they had the new camera converted and on its way back to me. A few days after that I received the insurance claim reimbursement check from LifePixel (since UPS paid them as they were the insurers of the lost package).
I was very impressed with the continued communication from LifePixel throughout the process. Their help and suggestions, and continued excellent customer service made me a very satisfied customer..
