Hello, my name is Robert Burcul. I am a photography artist specialising in Black & White landscape images.
I have been a student of photography ever since I have bought my first digital camera in 2004. Originally from Croatia I now live in Tasmania, an island state of Australia whose unique natural environment provides the never ending source of inspiration for my photography. I often can’t wait to leave the everyday life behind and venture into the amazing Tasmanian wilderness to feel freedom and excitement of creative exploration only my camera can afford me.
I print my own photographs and I enjoy the whole process of fine art print making. That way I am able to control and develop my image ideas from the inception at the moment of capture and throughout all of the stages of post production and finally to the end by making the fine art print.
My fascination with the infrared black and white image started in the early 2014 when I first discovered LifePixel. LifePixel initially converted my full frame DSLR , original Canon 5D.
As soon as I made my first infrared image I knew I was hooked on creative possibilities of black and white infrared photography. Today I am photographing with Canon 5D lll. I have opted for LifePixel’s Deep BW IR conversion ( equivalent to 830 nm filter) as it allows me to produce the excellent quality black and white images straight out of camera requiring minimal post processing time latter and leaving me with the more time to enjoy photographing with my camera.
