Fred started doing infrared photography in November 2017 after having his Nikon D800 converted by LifePixel. His years of work as a photographer and graphic artist led him to the world of infrared in his quest for something new —- a new way to see the world. Having been interested in photography and art since his teenage years, he was always trying new photographic techniques.
Most of his professional life was spent doing on-air graphics at several San Francisco television stations (KQED-TV 9, KRON-TV 4, and KPIX-TV 5) —– at KRON his duties included photographing the newscasters and other on-air talent, shooting from the KRON helicopter, and photographing visiting celebrities on the various shows KRON aired. But he also did a great deal of work as a freelancer. He did work for the San Francisco Ballet School, BAM Magazine, NBC and countless other freelance clients.
Represented here is the beginning of Fred’s infrared journey.
