Product Description
This workshop will be limited to just 10 people to allow for more direct one-on-one interaction. This is a perfect opportunity to hone your skills in both Color and Infrared photography.
Located 8 miles off the coast of Cancun, Mexico, Isla Mujeres is a sleepy little island, perhaps one of the best-kept secrets in the Caribbean. Isla Mujeres is only 4.5 miles long and ¾ of a mile wide. At the northern tip of the island is a small resort complex, and at the southern tip are Mayan Ruins several millennia old. On the east and west are some of the most interesting coastlines ever. We will see it all, . . . and photograph it.
How to get to Isla Mujeres
All you do is fly into Cancun, Mexico, then take a cab or car service to the Gran Puerto Cancun Ultramar ferry dock located in Puerto Juarez, a few minutes from downtown Cancun. You won’t be in Cancun very long. The ferry boat leaves every ½ hour and takes about 15 minutes.
On Isla Mujeres
You will have the option of either staying in one of the resort hotels, a small quaint hotel or renting an apartment or house. The last two options are often less expensive.
We will . . . .
- Immerse ourselves in the local culture, and wander the open-air Markets for street photography.
- Sample the local (yummy) cuisine, by visiting my favorite restaurant La Cazuela M&J
- We will photograph some of the most amazing coastline in the Caribbean.
- Visit the ruins of Ixchel, a Mayan temple, at Punta Sur.
- Meet early each morning to capture the sunrise on the Caribbean side, and end our day by capturing the sunset on the Cancun side.
This is a 3-day Image Capture Workshop, and we will focus on both Color and Infrared.
